Lagos State University (LASU) has issued a firm reminder to all newly admitted students that indecent dressing will not be tolerated during the 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony scheduled for Monday, 1 December 2025.

According to Legitdan News, the university emphasized that every 100 Level and Direct Entry student must appear in decent, respectable, and appropriate attire. LASU made it clear that any student whose dressing is deemed improper will be denied entry into the venue.

To avoid confusion, the institution highlighted specific styles that are strictly prohibited. These include:

  • Coloured or excessively long hair

  • Hairstyles such as dreadlocks or unkempt hair

  • Long artificial nails

  • Skimpy or revealing outfits

  • Clothes exposing the upper body

  • Torn or “crazy” jeans

  • Nose piercings

  • Multiple earrings

The reminder aligns with previous circulars discouraging extreme hairstyles, body piercings, and provocative dressing across all LASU campuses. The university urged all matriculating students to adhere to the guidelines to prevent embarrassment and ensure a smooth, dignified ceremony.
