The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) has officially relocated from the Ikeja Campus to the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences facility at the IDH, Yaba Campus.
The relocation took effect on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, following a directive by the Provost of LASUCOM, Prof. Olufemi Idowu.
According to the College, the relocation is part of efforts to consolidate the Faculty’s academic facilities and activities while providing a more conducive environment for teaching, learning and research.
The Yaba Campus is expected to provide improved infrastructure and bring the Faculty closer to relevant teaching hospital facilities, which will further support academic and practical training for students.
The relocation also comes ahead of the forthcoming accreditation exercise for the Faculty by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN).
The College stated that the move is intended to strengthen the Faculty’s academic environment and ensure that the necessary facilities and structures are in place ahead of the accreditation exercise.
The Provost, Prof. Olufemi Idowu, commended the Faculty Management, staff and students for what was described as a seamless transition to the new location.
He also reaffirmed the College’s commitment to providing the necessary support for the Faculty as it prepares for the upcoming accreditation exercise.
With the relocation now completed, academic activities of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences are expected to take place at the Yaba Campus when the new academic session begins in October 2026.
The development marks another step in LASUCOM’s efforts to strengthen its academic infrastructure and create an improved environment for professional training, research and learning.
