DO YOU KNOW YOU MUST ALSO CONSIDER YOUR AGGREGATE SCORE DURING THE PROCESS OF YABATECH ADMISSION?

YES!, YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR AGGREGATE SCORE

Tips on How to Calculate YABATECH Post-UTME Screening Score

To calculate the post-UTME screening score, you need to have your JAMB score and O’level result at hand.

There are four steps in calculating the aggregate score, you have to calculate;

1. JAMB aggregate.

2. O’level aggregate.

3. Bonus mark.

Here's a breakdown of YABATECH's admission scoring system to help you understand how points are calculated:

  1. O-Level Grades Scoring
YABATECH uses a point system based on your O-Level results. Here’s how each grade translates to points:
    • A1 = 6 points
    • B2 = 5 points
    • B3 = 4.5 points
    • C4 = 4.0 points
    • C5 = 3.5 points
    • C6 = 3 points

Note: If you completed your O-Levels in one sitting, you get an additional 10 points. However, if you used two sittings, this extra 10 points does not apply.

  1. JAMB Score Calculation
To make the remaining 60 points, YABATECH uses your JAMB score. They multiply your JAMB score by 0.15 to convert it into a score out of 60. For instance, if you scored 200 in JAMB:

200×0.15=30 points

  1. Total Score
The total score for admission is out of 100 points, combining your O-Level points and the JAMB score. To be considered.

In summary, this formula allows YABATECH to evaluate your academic performance based on both your O-Level results and JAMB scores, with a maximum possible score of 100 points.

Example

Suppose a student has the following O-Level results and JAMB score:

O-Level Grades

  • Mathematics: B3
  • English: B2
  • Chemistry: C4
  • Physics: A1
  • Biology: B3

JAMB Score: 220

Step 1: Calculate O-Level Points

Based on the provided grades, each subject score converts as follows:

  • Mathematics (B3) = 4.5 points
  • English (B2) = 5 points
  • Chemistry (C4) = 4.0 points
  • Physics (A1) = 6 points
  • Biology (B3) = 4.5 points

Add these points:

4.5+5+4.0+6+4.5=24 points4.5 + 5 + 4.0 + 6 + 4.5 = 24 \text{ points}4.5+5+4.0+6+4.5=24 points

One Sitting Bonus:
Since the student completed these grades in one sitting, they earn an additional 10 points.

24+10=34 points24 + 10 = 34 \text{ points}24+10=34 points

Step 2: Calculate JAMB Points

Now, multiply the JAMB score by 0.15:

220×0.15=33 points220 \times 0.15 = 33 \text{ points}220×0.15=33 points

Step 3: Add Both Scores

Combine the O-Level and JAMB points:

34+33=67 points34 + 33 = 67 \text{ points}34+33=67 points

Final Score

The student’s total score for admission consideration would be 67 points out of 100.

This calculation shows how important both O-Level results and a strong JAMB score are in achieving a competitive total.
