LASUED Holds Maiden Teaching Practice Orientation For Its 300 Level Students


In its continued efforts to produce world-class teachers and future leaders, Lagos State University of Education on Friday 27th September, 2024 held its maiden edition of Teaching Practice Orientation Programme for its 300 level students in the Oluremi Tinubu hall, Oto/Ijanikin main campus.

The Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University of Education, Prof. B.B. Lafiaji-Okuneye ably represented by the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Dr. Daodu M.A. enjoined students to be good ambassadors of the University and give their best performance in the schools posted for their teaching practice. Additionally, he made it known to students that teaching practice exercise is an inevitable aspect of their learning process as degree undergraduate students studying at University of Education and at such, can be carried over as a course. However, he wished them an excellent teaching practice experience.

In her address, the Acting Director, Directorate of Teaching Practice LASUED, Dr. Akinkuotu F.A admonished students to be punctual, charged them to understand the ethics and code of conduct of the profession.

Furthermore, she advised them to embrace the teaching practice with passion, enthusiasm, be good ambassadors of the University as pacesetters, shun harassment against their students and all other acts that may hinder them from successful teaching practice exercise.

While congratulating the prospect teachers, the Acting Director, Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development, LASUED, Dr. Olaleye. B.O urged the students to embrace their teaching practice exercise with passion and dedication, noting that the exercise will expose them to practical aspects of their classroom learning.

Meanwhile, students were exposed to all the cogent materials needed for their teaching practice including do’s and don’t of the exercise by facilitators present such as Dr. Adedotun K.O and Dr. Elegbede C.B.

Other dignitaries in attendance were; the Dean, Students’ Affairs, Dr. Dawodu R.A., HODs, etc.
