The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has announced the commencement of registration for its 2025/2026 Post-UTME screening exercise. The registration is open to candidates who selected the institution as their first choice in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtained a minimum score of 150.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the Registrar, online registration will run from Friday, 11th July 2025 to Friday, 18th July 2025. Interested candidates are advised to visit the official university website at www.uniport.edu.ng to complete their registration.
To begin the process, applicants are to input their UTME registration number and confirm the preloaded UTME details. A payment of ₦2,000 is required and can be made online via Remita using MasterCard, Visa, or Verve cards. Alternatively, candidates may generate a payment slip and complete payment at any bank offering the Remita platform, including Access Bank, Ecobank, Fidelity Bank, First Bank, FCMB, UBA, and Uniport-Choba Microfinance Bank.
Upon payment, candidates must return to the portal to enter the Remita Access Code, confirm payment, and complete the online registration form. Candidates awaiting their O’Level results must indicate their status during the process. A registration slip should be printed upon submission for record purposes.
While the university has not yet released the specific date for the screening exercise, candidates are advised to monitor the university website regularly for the schedule and other relevant updates.
The university has cautioned that candidates who fail to register within the specified period will not be eligible to participate in the screening.
Other key guidelines include:
- All documents submitted must reflect consistent names and photographs. Inconsistencies may lead to disqualification.
- Only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 2025 are eligible to apply.
- Use of mobile phones and other electronic devices is strictly prohibited at the screening venue.
- The entire registration process is online. Candidates are not required to be physically present on campus during registration.
- Candidates who initially selected UNIPORT as a second choice must change it to first choice on the JAMB portal before registering.
- All applicants must ensure that their O’Level results are uploaded to the JAMB CAPS platform, as failure to do so may affect admission consideration.
- Each candidate must register with a valid personal phone number and email address for correspondence.
- Parents, guardians, and unauthorized security personnel will not be allowed within the screening venue during the exercise.
