JAMB Requirements for Candidates Sitting for the 2026 UTME
To successfully register for and participate in the 2026 UTME, candidates are expected to meet the following requirements:
Age & Citizenship: Candidates must be at least 16 years old at the time of registration and admission. Only Nigerian citizens or officially recognised residents are eligible.
O’Level Results: A minimum of five (5) credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, etc.).
National Identification Number (NIN): Possession of a valid NIN is compulsory. Candidates cannot generate a profile code or complete UTME registration without it.
Correct Personal Information: All personal details—such as name, date of birth, gender, state of origin, and LGA—must exactly match records with NIMC to avoid delays or disqualification.
Active Email & Phone Number: Candidates must provide a unique email address and an active phone numberfor registration confirmation and exam-related updates.
Choice of Institutions: Candidates are required to select four (4) tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, or IEIs) in order of preference.
Registration at Accredited CBT Centres: After generating a profile code, candidates must complete registration at an approved JAMB CBT centre, where biometric data and passport photographs will be captured.
Printing of Registration Slip: Upon successful registration, candidates should print and keep their registration slip, as it will be required on the examination day.
Examination Conduct: Electronic devices such as mobile phones and calculators are strictly prohibited. Candidates must comply with all examination rules and present only their printed registration slip.
Meeting these requirements ensures a smooth registration process and eligibility for admission consideration.
