NULASS LASU LAUNCHES 2026 IBILE WEEK, PROMOTES CULTURE, EDUCATION, AND STUDENT UNITY
The National Union of Lagos State Students, LASU Chapter, has kicked off its 2026 IBILE Week with an opening press conference held on April 27, as reported by DeeSwift Consults for Swift School News.
The press conference served as the official launchpad for the cultural week, drawing student leaders, key stakeholders, and media representatives to mark the occasion.
Addressing those in attendance, the chapter's Public Relations Officer, Balogun Lateef Opeyemi, spoke to the broader significance of IBILE, describing it as a unifying force that brings together Lagos State indigenes across the five divisions of Ikorodu, Ikeja, Epe, Badagry, and Lagos Island. He further highlighted the programme's commitment to advancing education, fostering shared knowledge, and integrating global best practices into the fabric of local culture.
He emphasized that IBILE Week reflects growth, achievement, and the importance of connecting with other institutions while maintaining strong academic values and professional standards.
In her remarks, the Chairman, Abass Mulikat Oluwafunmilayo, urged students to embrace their cultural identity and remain united. She noted that the week serves as a reminder of shared heritage and values among Lagos State students.
Also speaking, the Speaker, Mustapha Muhammad A. Ishola, called for teamwork, responsible leadership, and constructive engagement among students.
The President, Hammed Toyeeb Olayinka, described the launch as a milestone, noting that it is the first press conference in the history of the association to kick off IBILE Week. He encouraged students to stay engaged, maintain high energy, and participate actively in all activities.
Activities lined up include Funfair and Sports Fiesta on April 29, Colloquium on April 30, and Grand Cultural Display on May 1, 2026.
