The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted accreditation to all 49 academic programmes presented by Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, with 43 receiving full accreditation and six placed on interim status.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the institution’s Media and Public Relations Officer, Wale Adeoye, quoting the Vice-Chancellor, Olanrewaju Olaniyan. According to him, the accreditation followed the NUC’s exercise conducted in November 2025, with official communication conveyed in April 2026.
Professor Olaniyan described the outcome as a strong validation of the university’s commitment to academic excellence and compliance with national standards. He noted that all 49 programmes presented were successfully accredited, enabling the institution to run them for the next five years.
The Vice-Chancellor further highlighted the rapid growth of the university, which commenced academic activities on August 9, 2023, and currently has a student population of 8,679, with students already in 300 level.
He added that the accredited programmes span key disciplines across education, sciences, arts, technology, and social sciences, positioning the university as a growing hub for teacher education and innovation.
While commending the NUC, Professor Olaniyan expressed appreciation to the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for his continued support, noting that the administration’s commitment has been instrumental to the institution’s progress since its upgrade.
The accreditation milestone is expected to strengthen the university’s capacity to deliver quality education and produce graduates equipped for national development.
