You did it! You survived UTME stress, sleepless nights, tutorials, research and endless consultations! Mo is so proud of you! You overcame so much and now you are a FRESHER! Osheyyyy! Imagine Mo giving you a high-five, okay? ;)
Oh, I remember my fresher year just like it was yesterday, because, well, it was! I remember the excitement, eagerness and anxiety I felt right before resumption and even after.
Being a fresher, before resumption, takes a lot of preparation, mental and physical preparation.
I am pretty sure a lot of you freshers are already writing their lists of things to take to school for resumption. Remember to add more food items o, because school will stress you and your comfort activity might be cooking or eating food, don't make the same mistake I made please😭. Also, remember to make the right decisions with seeking accommodation, dressing styles and with anything that will ascertain your comfort in a foreign environment.
Being a fresher in a Nigerian University, most especially state and federal unis, isn't an easy journey. It has its own ups and downs, cries and laughter, fun moments and moments where you start asking yourself why you chose the course you are studying.
There will be lots and lots of experiences you will gain, and when you move forward to the next level, you will look back and smile saying it was all worth it.
As someone who just dropped the fresher title, it will all be worth it once you put in all the hard work and focus on the reason with which you went there for.
As your self-appointed big sister and senior, I would give you some practical tips on how to survive your first year in university. I know say you no ask me but I go still do am! But not just yet, that would be in my next letter to you.
