Lagos State University (LASU) has commenced applications for admission into its Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Business Administration programme under the Open and Distance Learning and Research Institute (ODLRI) for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The programme is designed to provide a flexible alternative for individuals who may be unable to participate in the conventional university system due to work, business, time constraints or other commitments.
According to the university, applicants can gain admission through either the four-year undergraduate route or the three-year Direct Entry route.
AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES
1. Four-Year Programme
This option is available to candidates seeking admission into 100 Level.
2. Three-Year Direct Entry Programme
This route is for qualified candidates seeking admission into 200 Level.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
For the four-year programme, applicants must possess at least five credit passes in WAEC, SSCE, GCE, NECO or an equivalent examination.
The required credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings and must include:
English Language
Mathematics
Economics or Commerce
Two other relevant subjects
The additional subjects may include Accounting, Government, Geography, Business Studies, as well as relevant Science or Arts subjects.
Candidates applying through Direct Entry must possess any of the following:
A LASU Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 3.0;
A Diploma from a university recognised by the LASU Senate with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 or equivalent; or
An OND from a recognised government-approved Polytechnic with a minimum of Upper Credit.
Candidates awaiting their O’Level results are not eligible to apply.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
The ODLRI Business Administration programme is particularly suitable for:
Working professionals;
Entrepreneurs and business owners;
Adults who were unable to secure admission through the conventional university system;
Individuals interested in careers in business management, marketing, finance, entrepreneurship and human resources.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old at the point of entry.
LASU also stated that academic activities will be delivered through a blended learning system, and applicants are expected to have basic proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
HOW TO APPLY

Applicants should select “Apply Now”, carefully review the admission requirements and proceed with the application.
The application fee is ₦25,000, and LASU stated that payments should be made online through its official payment channels.
During the application process, candidates will be required to provide their personal information and upload relevant documents, including:
O’Level result(s);
JAMB registration number;
Diploma certificate, where applicable;
OND certificate, where applicable.
Applicants are advised to carefully verify all information supplied before submitting the application and should print a copy of the completed form for their records.
AFTER ADMISSION
Candidates who are offered provisional admission will be required to print their admission letters and pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of ₦25,000, alongside applicable medical and tuition fees.
They will also be required to complete the online admission clearance process through the LASU Central Admissions Clearance Application (LACACA) platform.
Candidates who successfully complete the required clearance process will subsequently be assigned their matriculation numbers.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
LASU stated that the application portal will close six weeks from the date the admission advertisement was published.
Prospective applicants are therefore advised to complete their applications early and avoid waiting until the final days.
