A 2026 graduate of Lagos State University (LASU), Hamzat Kehinde Ozein, has continued his football career abroad after securing a move to Turkish club Fişekspor.
Kehinde graduated from LASU’s Department of Human Kinetics, Sports and Health Education (HKSHE) in 2026, having combined his university education with an active football career.
Fişekspor confirmed the Nigerian player’s arrival in an announcement shared on its Instagram page on Saturday as part of its preparations for the new season.
The Turkish club welcomed Kehinde to the team and expressed confidence that his talent, energy and determination would strengthen the squad.
“Welcome to Fişekspor, Kehinde! As part of our squad planning for the new season, Nigerian footballer Kehinde Ozein Hamzat has joined Fişekspor,” the club announced.
Fişekspor further welcomed the player to the club, saying: “Together, towards new goals. Together, stronger!”
KEHINDE'S FOOTBALL JOURNEY AT LASU
Before making the move to Turkey, Kehinde represented Lagos State University in several university-level football competitions.
His time at LASU saw him participate in competitions organised under the National University Games Association (NUGA) and UNITECOL, representing the university on two occasions.
Through these competitions, the HKSHE graduate gained valuable competitive experience while developing his football ability, tactical awareness and discipline.
His involvement in university football also allowed him to compete against some of the country's promising young athletes while pursuing his academic goals.

Following his graduation in 2026, Kehinde has remained focused on developing his football career.
Recent photographs show the former LASU player completing official documentation alongside a representative of Fişekspor, marking another important step in his professional journey.
Fişekspor was established in 1973 and is based in the Gaziosmanpaşa district of Istanbul, Turkey. The club competes in the 1. Amatör Lig, Group 9, during the 2026/2027 season.
Kehinde's move to Turkish football represents a significant milestone in his career and another example of how university sports can serve as a pathway for young Nigerian athletes pursuing opportunities beyond the country.
As he begins this new chapter with Fişekspor, the LASU alumnus will be hoping to build on his university football experience and make a strong impact in the Turkish league.
