LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY (LASU) REOPENS UTME/DIRECT-ENTRY ADMISSION SCREENING PORTAL FOR THE 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the compassionate reopening of its online admission screening portal for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This decision, approved by the Vice-Chancellor, is aimed at providing an opportunity for candidates who have not completed their admission screening or uploaded outstanding O’Level results to do so.

Application Window

The portal will remain open for five days only – from Monday, August 4, to Friday, August 9, 2025 (until midnight).

Eligibility for Screening

The screening is open to:

  • Candidates who chose LASU as their first-choice institution in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored a minimum of 195, provided they are at least 16 years of age by September 30, 2025.
  • Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) students who completed their studies and chose LASU as first choice in the 2025 UTME, with scores not less than 195.
  • Direct Entry (DE) candidates, including LASU Foundation (JUPEB), with valid JAMB Direct Entry forms who chose LASU as first choice. Only LASU Diplomas are acceptable for DE admission except NCE into Faculty of Education programmes.
  • Candidates of Lagos State origin for 100- and 200-level admissions whose claims have been validated by the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC).

Available Programmes

The reopening covers only accredited courses as listed by LASU for the 2025/2026 academic session. These include programmes in:

  • Arts (Arabic, Christian Religious Studies, English, French, History & International Studies, Islamic Studies, Linguistics, Music, Peace Studies, Philosophy, Portuguese/English, Theatre Arts, Yoruba)
  • Communication & Media Studies (Mass Communication)
  • Education (Arabic, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Christian Religious Studies, Computer Science, Early Childhood, Economics, Educational Management, English, French, Geography, Guidance & Counselling, Health, History, Islamic Studies, Mathematics, Physical & Health, Physics, Political Science, Special, Technology & Vocational, Yoruba)
  • Engineering (Aeronautic & Astronautic, Chemical, Civil, Electronics & Computer, Industrial, Mechanical)
  • Environmental Sciences (Architecture, Building, Estate Management, Environmental Management, Fine Art, Industrial Design, Surveying & Geo-Informatics, Quantity Surveying, Urban & Regional Planning)
  • Law (Common/Civil Law, Common/Islamic Law)

Direct Entry Applicants

All Direct Entry candidates are required to submit copies of their Online Admission Screening Report and Diploma (LASU Diploma)/NCE Result at the Admission Annex/Liaison Office (Room 7, Administrative Block II).

Application Procedure

Applicants are to:

  1. Visit www.lasu.edu.ng
  2. Select New Applicants under the student menu
  3. Click on UTME/DE Screening (https://lasu.edu.ng/admissionscreening)
  4. Log in with UTME Registration Number and Surname
  5. Make payment for Admission Screening
  6. Proceed to complete the Online Self-Screening Form with personal details, UTME subjects and scores, O’Level results, and choice of course.

Candidates must possess five O’Level credits relevant to their course of study at not more than two sittings (except Medicine and Dentistry, which require one sitting). Candidates for Engineering using two sittings must present six credits including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, two other science subjects, and one additional subject. Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering requires a credit pass in Further Mathematics.

All candidates must upload their O’Level results on JAMB CAPS before the closure of the screening.

Screening Grading

The screening is based on a Point Grading System, using UTME scores and SSCE grades in the five best relevant subjects, as listed in the 2025 JAMB brochure.
