The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has issued a strong warning to the public, advising them to disregard viral messages claiming the cancellation of results for certain schools. The examination body has labeled these claims as false and urged the public to rely only on information from its official sources.
In a recent public notice, WAEC addressed the misinformation directly, stating, “Kindly ignore any message listing schools whose results were supposedly cancelled.” The council also debunked another baseless rumor, adding, “WAEC will never ask any centre to bring scripts of candidates to the office. Where would they get them from?”
The council emphasized the importance of using only its official channels for credible information, stating, “Do not accept any message that is not on our handles and accredited media.”
The public is encouraged to be vigilant and report any fraudulent messages to the relevant authorities. WAEC remains committed to transparent communication and will continue to use its verified platforms to make all official announcements.
