FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY IKOT-ABASI (FUTIA) RELEASES POST-UTME/DIRECT ENTRY ADMISSION FORM FOR THE 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA), Akwa Ibom State, has announced the commencement of its Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for admission into the 2025/2026 academic session.

According to a statement signed by the Registrar, Offiongita E. Nkang (Mrs), online registration begins on Monday, July 21, 2025, and all qualified candidates are invited to apply.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must have scored a minimum of 160 in the 2025 UTME and made FUTIA their first choice.
  • Those who did not initially select FUTIA but meet the minimum score may also apply, provided they change their institution of first choice on the JAMB CAPS.
  • Applicants must possess at least five relevant credit-level passes including English and Mathematics in not more than two sittings.

Available Courses:

FUTIA offers a range of degree programmes across six schools:

  1. School of Agriculture (SAGR): Agriculture, Food Science and Technology
  2. School of Computing & Information Technology (SCIT): Computer Science, Cyber Security, Library & Information Tech, Software Engineering
  3. School of Engineering & Engineering Technology (SEET): Aerospace, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, and Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  4. School of Environmental Science & Technology (SEST): Architecture, Building Tech, Quantity Surveying, Naval Architecture
  5. School of Management Technology (SMAT): Accounting, Business Management, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Transportation Management
  6. School of Pure and Applied Sciences (SPAS): Biochemistry, Mathematics/Statistics, Physics, Microbiology

Registration Procedure:

Candidates are to apply online by visiting the university portal at https://portal.futia.edu.ng and follow the instructions provided. Payment is to be made online using ATM cards (Visa, Verve, or MasterCard), after which applicants can complete their registration.

Applicants are advised to print their completed registration form and payment receipt after submission.

Important Notes:

  • Candidates with “Awaiting Results” are eligible but must upload their O’Level results via an approved JAMB CBT centre.
  • The university warns that it does not engage agents or individuals for admission processing. All transactions must be done directly via the official portal.
  • Admissions must be accepted within four weeks of approval.
